My journey with food didn’t start with passion — it started with survival. At a young age, I had to learn how to care for and provide for myself. Many of the environments I grew up in didn’t feel safe, but the kitchen slowly became a place where I could breathe, focus, and just be. It was in that space — often quiet, sometimes chaotic — that I started to find a sense of comfort and control.
I spent a lot of time watching my caregivers cook, observing their process, picking up techniques without even realizing it. I was also sick often as a child, which kept me indoors — and that’s when I fell in love with food TV. I became obsessed with the Cooking Network and Take Home Chef. I’d watch for hours, then go into the kitchen and try to recreate what I had seen. Slowly, what started as a chore I resented became something I could enjoy, something that gave me peace. My hate for cooking transformed into curiosity, and eventually, love.
Living with undiagnosed autism made navigating the world — especially employment — incredibly challenging. My first job was working in a high school kitchen, and that experience opened up a new chapter for me. I learned hands-on cooking techniques, plating skills, and how a commercial kitchen operates. From there, I began cooking for family gatherings, hosting meals for friends, and even catering events for my mom’s coworkers. Cooking became more than just a skill — it became a way to connect and give back.
During the pandemic, I launched a small baked sweet treats business and was honored to cater over 500 baked goods for a wedding. Though I eventually had to close that chapter, it showed me just how far I had come — and how much I still wanted to grow.
Now, I’m back — and everything I’ve been through has led me here, to East’s Corner of the Kitchen. This space is a reflection of my journey: one of resilience, creativity, and the deep belief that food can heal, unite, and tell stories.
I’m beyond excited to build this community — to share what I’ve learned, continue growing, and connect with you through food. Thank you for being here. Let’s make something beautiful together!

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: food is more than nourishment — it's a way to connect, heal, and create a sense of home.
Whether you're following a recipe, learning a new skill, or enjoying a meal prepared just for you, I want you to feel supported, inspired, and safe in the kitchen. Cooking should never feel intimidating — it should be a space where you can express yourself, explore new flavors, and enjoy the process without pressure or perfection.
I’m passionate about building an inclusive, judgment-free environment where everyone — no matter their background or experience — can feel confident and comfortable with food.
I also believe that food is a form of storytelling — a way to share who we are, where we come from, and where we're going. Every dish carries a story, whether it reflects the past, embraces the present, or imagines the future. Through food, we honor our roots, explore new cultures, and find common ground. It brings people together in the most human way possible — around the table.
Because when we cook with care and intention, we don’t just make meals — we create moments, memories, and meaningful connections.
